Overview
Qasr Al Watan is a working seat of government that opens part of itself to visitors, which gives it a different feel from a palace preserved as a museum. The Great Hall is the set piece, but the House of Knowledge is the room people linger in — manuscripts tracing Arab work in astronomy, navigation and mathematics. Stay past sunset and the facade becomes a projection screen for Palace in Motion. Two to three hours is right.
