Overview
A 150-metre picture frame standing between the two halves of Dubai, which sounds like a gimmick until you are on the bridge. North is Deira, the creek and the older grid; turn around and it is Downtown and the Burj Khalifa. A panel in the walkway switches between opaque and clear as you cross it. An hour before sunset gives usable light in both directions, which is the main thing to plan around.
